10cm Assiette (plate) in olive

Made by La Soufflerie in Paris the 10cm Assiette is entirely mouth blown from recycled glass. Each piece is first puffed into a ball then opened and flattened to create a small dish. The sides of the dish are folded over to create the collared border that is a true sign of the handmade quality of this plate. The 10cm Assiette is the perfect size for your small side dishes. Use it for bread or as an individual butter plate. You could also use it in the bathroom as a soap dish, or anywhere in the home for keeping small items together.

Entirely made by hand and each item is unique. Therefore, there may be a slight variation in colour, texture, and size between each piece. On the base of each item, you can feel the pontil mark left by the glassblower’s cane. The presence of this mark indicates that the glass was blown freehand. This is the beauty of handmade. This traditional handblown glass may contain air bubbles, sharp edges and scorch marks due to the experimental process of creation. The pieces may also contain scratches or marks from tools used in the smelter.

La Soufflerie is a French non-profit, family owned and operated association, that aims to preserve the timeless art of glassblowing.  Using only 100% recycled glass, each piece is mouthblown by an expert glassblowing craftsperson in their Paris studio workshop before being transported to Delph, England to wait for it's new home!

Although dishwasher safe, we do recommend that you wash them by hand to avoid scratches and to preserve their lustre.
